The Designer Scouts are programming partners of this year’s Fashion Art Toronto Festival taking place from April 24-28, 2012 in Toronto, Canada. For it’s German focus we co-curated a fashion photography exhibition showcasing the work of 7 German designers: JULIAANDBEN, Moga E Mago, Sadak, Tata Christiane, Howitzweissbach, Lisa Shahno and Isabel Vollrath. We also produced a fashion film directed by Katja Hentschel with new designs by Augustin Teboul, Esther Perbandt, Von Bardonitz, Sadak and Moga E Mago that will be screened at the festival. With the support of the Goethe Institute Canada the designers Esther Perbandt and Von Bardonitz will fly to Toronto to have their first runway show in Canada. Learn more about the |FAT| Festival.
On April 20, 2012 we will host a satellite event here in Berlin with fashion presentions and fashion film screenings. More infos coming soon.
Designer Scouts recommends GIF. ME. BERLIN. – a photographic exhibition of animated GIFs presented by iHeartBerlin.de and smart-urban-stage.com featuring Berlin-based fashion photographers Katja Hentschel, Oliver Rath, Florian Kolmer and many more. More details here.

Tonight it’s time to swap! The SKYY SWAP MARKET hosted by DESIGNER SCOUTS is taking place at the Stadtbad Oderberger. Vintage pearls and brand new designer clothes will be swapped and purchased – and all of it for a good cause! The proceeds will be donated to the Berliner AIDS Hilfe e.V.!
To celebrate the release of the new collectors edition of SKYY Vodka the theme for this SKYY SWAP MARKET is New York, Miami & San Francisco. We have asked designers and labels to donate a few pieces from their collections in the typical style of each of these cities. The following labels will be available at the market:
Lala Berlin, Strenesse, C.Neeon, Michalsky, Vladimir Karaleev, JULIAANDBEN, Boessert/Schorn, von Bardonitz, Cheap Monday, Wood Wood, Monki, Weekday, Ansoho, Moga e Mago, Burkhard/Möllmann, Raphael Hauber, Aschoen, AVR, Manikó, Majaco, 25 Pieces, armedangels, UMASAN, Stina Mara, Carni
If there is one thing you need for Miami it is light pastel shorts. Burkhardt/Möllmann donated exactly that to the SKYY SWAP MARKET.
Bold shapes, neon colors, clear signs of 80s style which is still very strong in New York. Berlin-based designer Raphael Hauber picked these two shirts for the SKYY SWAP MARKET.
The skinny jeans of Cheap Monday will be available at the SKYY SWAP MARKET as well.
